This 3-day alcohol ink workshop will cover a variety of techniques using my favorite medium, alcohol ink. You will have a plethora of finished work and ideas flowing for months (if not years). My students have commented, “you have changed my life!” (seriously!!!), “you unleashed my passion,” “awesome,” “inspiring,” “mind blowing.” All true!!! You will love the magic of the ink, whether you’re new to art, new to inks, want to loosen up, or just have fun, this workshop is for you. Come and see what everyone is talking about. Go to visualartcenter.org for more information.
I am fortunate enough to have my work displayed at the beautiful Goff Gallery at the Visual Arts Center in Punta Gorda, FL along with the amazing Heather Arenas, fine oil painter, and the dynamic 3-D due of Belinda Duclos and Judi Roth who do things with pottery and metal that is magical.
The show runs from January 8-January 31st, so you can come anytime, but we are holding an artists reception with free-flowing champagne and yummy appetizers.
I hope to see you there!
I will be displaying my newest work at the lovely Mangrove Gallery at Englewood Art Center from Tuesday Novermber 13 through Saturday, December 15, 2018.
I’m looking forward to showing off my latest series, “Birds with Shoes.” There will also be several smaller abstract paintings on tile. All created with my favorite medium, alcohol ink. If the birds with shoes doesn’t ruffle your feathers, the Florida Suncoast Watercolor Society will also be on display at the same time.
I hope you get a chance to stop by. There will be an artists reception on November 17th from 2-4:00 for both the Mangrove and Suncoast Watercolor show.
The Englewood Art Center is part of Ringling College of Art & Design.
The Battle of the Brushes has begun! I have been paired up with local celebrity, Carlton Hughes. Carlton has no art background, but a strong desire to create a masterpiece and was brave enough to participate in the inaugural event to raise money for the Visual Art Center in Punta Gorda.
Carlton is busy working on the artwork using alcohol inks. I am coaching him along, but keeping my hands off the canvas. The unveiling, silent auction and gala will be fun for all. Come see what Carlton has created and support this wonderful art center.
The Arts for ACT gallery is holding its annual fundraiser and both live & silent auction at the beautiful Hyatt Regency Resort & Spa at Coconut Point in Bonita Springs. I was honored to be accepted into their live auction (for the second year) with my donated piece, “Nice View.” Please consider attending event and/or donating to this wonderful gallery. Check out their website artsforactgallery.com for all the details.
I am also exhibiting a large amount of my collection the month of January 2019 at their gallery on 2265 First Street Fort Myers. This gallery is a pace-setting, award winning and 100% non-profit gallery owned & operated by Abuse Counseling and Treatment, Inc. This non-profit agency provides shelter and support services for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking. I am humbled to be able to support this incredible center with my artwork.
There will be an exhibit open house reception on Tuesday, October 30th from 5:30-7:30. The Visual Arts Center in Punta Gorda has partnered with Nix & Associates and so graciously asked me to display some of my artwork in their beautiful new location. My artwork, along with Kitt Moran’s, adorn the walls of their new office.
I hope you can stop by for a glass of wine and a chat with myself and Kitt. You know we LOVE to talk about art!
